Vampire™

Vampire™ features:

A Fantasy Football Vampire™ League is a fun and unique twist on the traditional fantasy football format. The “vampire” is a manager who has a special rule allowing them to grow stronger by defeating other teams. Here are the basic rules for a typical Vampire™ League:

Vampire™ Team

  • One manager is designated as the Vampire™. This team operates slightly differently than the others in the league. Often, the Vampire™ is given a significant disadvantage to balance their ability to “steal” players.
  • The Vampire™ does not participate in the draft like the rest of the league. Instead, they inherit a team of random players or a team full of bench players from other managers.

Vampire™ Power – Stealing Players:

  • Each week, the Vampire™ can “bite” an opponent.
  • If the Vampire™ defeats an opponent in a matchup, they can “steal” one of the opponent’s starting players (typically from their starting lineup).
  • The player stolen must be a starter, and the Vampire™ must add them to their own starting lineup. This gives the Vampire™ team an opportunity to improve over time.

Weekly Mathcups

  • The Vampire™ plays against the rest of the league just like a normal fantasy football team. However, since they start with a weaker roster, they often face an uphill battle.
  • If the Vampire™ loses, nothing happens, and they keep their team as is. If they win, they get to pick a player to add to their roster from the opponent they just beat.

Injuries, Suspensions, and Bye Weeks:

  • If a player the Vampire™ steals is injured or on a bye week, the Vampire™ still gets the benefit of that player being added to their team, though they can’t steal a replacement for the time being.

Bloodthirsty

  • The Vampire™ gets top waiver pick each week.
 

Endgame

  • The Vampire’s goal is to eventually build a team strong enough to compete with the rest of the league. Once they start accumulating stolen players, they can become a serious contender as their roster improves.
